About

I’m glad to finally share a project born out of two years of exploration. Cypres is a platform for objects crafted in the provinces of Canada, shaped by the textures, sights, and scents of this place.

Drawing on my background in sourcing for heritage fashion houses, this process has been a humbling one. Working within a landscape rich in raw materials but lacking infrastructure has meant reimagining what a supply chain can look like. The result is a small collection that reflects countless hours of research and care from our partners, who have poured their extensive expertise into the collection.

Canada’s harsh climate makes the harvest a difficult and exhausting task. Most local wool, for instance, is so matted with mud and snow that it’s deemed unsalvageable and often discarded. This reality has highlighted the need to working slowly and intentionally, focusing on raw materials and the effort behind them.

Cypres is a shared sensory experience. Choosing to work with raw wool as our first material has ensured that what we've made will have many lifetimes, and these pieces will endure for future generations.
